MEU Tallinn 2014

MEU Tallinn 2014 took place from July 26 until August 2nd.

The 2014 conference gathered more than 80 participants from more than 30 different countries.
The Council of the European Union was simulated in three configurations: General Affairs, Justice & Home Affairs and Economic & Financial Affairs.
The General Affairs Council worked on establishing the European Border Surveillance System (Eurosur). Meanwhile, the Justice & Home Affairs Council discussed whether to include Kaliningrad area of the Russian Federation as well as some Polish administrative districts in the eligible border area to avoid their isolation from immediate neighbours. Last but not least, the Economic & Financial Affairs Council aimed at strengthening the economic and budgetary surveillance of the Eurozone Member States experiencing serious difficulties with respect to their financial stability.
Eventually, the participants simulated a plenary session of the European Parliament where all proposals were discussed, amended and voted.
